PMB 120/200

Polymer Modified Bitumen PMB 120/200 for Africa

PMB 120/200 for Africa is a very soft Polymer Modified Bitumen for projects whose specifications require this penetration range. It has a nominal penetration range of 120 to 200 (0.1 mm) at 25 °C, tested using EN 1426 within the EN 14023 framework.

Polymer modification can improve binder performance, including flexibility and resistance to cracking. However, the actual performance depends on the complete grade designation, declared properties and project requirements.

Tiger Bitumen, a brand owned by HY International Group, supplies PMB 120/200 for Africa as part of its Polymer Modified Bitumen range. Share your project specification to confirm the applicable designation and supply details.

The 120/200 grade name identifies the penetration range. The minimum softening-point class completes the designation, written as PMB 120/200-[minimum softening point]. Your project specification determines the required class and other declared properties. These details are reported in the PMB 120/200 Technical Data Sheet and the shipment-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Compare PMB Penetration Grades

The following PMB grades are available for comparison. Their penetration ranges help distinguish the nominal consistency, but they do not replace the complete EN 14023 designation or project requirements.

For an unmodified penetration-grade alternative, see Bitumen 160/220. Confirm that the alternative meets your project specification before selecting it.

Typical Applications

PMB 120/200 may be considered where a very soft, flexible modified binder is required. Depending on the complete grade designation and pavement design, applications may include projects with significant low-temperature performance requirements.

For African projects, select the grade according to the pavement design and governing specification rather than the region alone. Confirm suitability against the complete designation and required performance properties.

Specification Checklist

For designers and consulting engineers:

  • State the complete designation, including the minimum softening-point class.
  • Identify the governing standard and its edition.
  • List any required declared properties and tests for confirmation in the Technical Data Sheet.

For contractors and buyers:

  • Send the project specification, required quantity, preferred packing, destination port and Incoterm.
  • Tiger Bitumen supplies PMB 120/200 for Africa and can quote FOB or CFR. The quotation confirms lead time and available quantity.

Packing, Export and Documents

Tiger Bitumen supplies PMB 120/200 primarily in New Steel Drums. If your project specifically requires bags, 1 Metric Ton (1,000 kg) PP woven bags in a steel cage may be available, subject to confirmation for the grade and order.

Orders leave the packing facility in the Karachi Export Processing Zone, near Port Qasim and Karachi Port, for container shipment to African ports. Each shipment includes:

  • a PMB 120/200-specific Technical Data Sheet;
  • a shipment-specific Certificate of Analysis.

SGS or Bureau Veritas inspection can be arranged where the buyer or project specification requires it. See Bitumen Drum Packing for packing details.
